User Experience requires curiosity, scientific rigor, and creativity. The User Experience professional is an expert in engineering methods and design best practices, understands human cognition, and embraces emerging technology. She welcomes feedback, assimilates information from many sources, has strong writing, presentation, communication, and negotiation skills, and constantly prioritizes and balances key considerations. UX research and design is a collaborative venture. Through continual iteration and testing the design evolves from broad concept to detailed prototype, minimum viable product, and successive releases.
